UrbanV and Future Flight Global launch a partnership for Advanced Air Mobility starting in Rome
Rome, May 29, 2025 – A landmark agreement has been signed between UrbanV, a leader in vertiport infrastructure and Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) services, and Future Flight Global, a pioneer in electric aviation operations: the goal is to develop and implement Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) services starting in Rome and then extending them to global markets.
It is a strategic partnership that combines UrbanV's expertise in infrastructure and multimodal connectivity with Future Flight Global's operational capabilities to deploy a diversified fleet of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) and conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) aircraft. The collaboration, aimed at accelerating the integration of next-generation aircraft into urban and regional mobility systems, will start in Rome, UrbanV's home market, and then expand across Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Veneto), the Côte d'Azur, and high-growth markets in North America, South America, and the Middle East.
A dialogue is currently underway with the main ecosystem stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment, infrastructure integration, and airspace coordination at launch.
Key elements of the partnership
1. Operational launch and test flights
UrbanV and Future Flight Global will start joint test flights in Rome using existing infrastructure (including UrbanV's UV-0 test vertiport) and will simultaneously develop an integrated business plan to support the transition from the testing phase to large-scale commercial operations.
2. Vertiport development and fleet operations
UrbanV will lead the design, construction, and management of vertiports in Rome and other strategic regions. Future Flight Global will be responsible for the deployment and management of a diversified fleet of eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft, specifically designed for urban and regional use.
3. International market expansion
The partnership will open up new IAM opportunities in high-growth regions beyond European borders, including North America, South America, and the Middle East. Market selection will be driven by infrastructure availability, regulatory alignment, and strategic demand.
Building a scalable IAM ecosystem
The partnership lays the foundation for one of the first fully integrated urban air mobility ecosystems in the world and focuses attention on multi-OEM aircraft operations, vertiport infrastructure, regulatory certifications, and support services. The first use cases cover passenger and cargo transport, regional connections, and coastal mobility.
Carlo Tursi, CEO of UrbanV, said: "This agreement marks a significant step forward in the plan conceived to bring Advanced Air Mobility to life in Rome and beyond. We are excited to partner with FFG, a global pioneer in AAM operations: the leadership, vision, and extensive operational experience they bring with conventional aircraft make them an ideal partner for us. Our collaboration combines deep infrastructure expertise with cutting-edge aviation operations and technology, with the goal of creating a scalable and sustainable air mobility ecosystem."
Karan Singh, CEO of Future Flight Global, added:
"Europe represents one of the most promising markets for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and UrbanV is at the forefront of turning this vision into reality. Their strong network of relationships and the foundational work done in Rome and Italy provide the ideal launch platform for FFG's diversified aircraft fleet. We are excited about this collaboration and about bringing to life our shared vision of safe, sustainable, and revolutionary electric aviation."
Each aircraft platform has been selected based on its mission suitability, regulatory maturity, and integration potential. Future Flight Global's operating manual ensures scalable and efficient deployment across all continents.
A global vision for advanced mobility
The initiative marks the launch of a global vision shared by both parties. The agreement outlines a clear roadmap to achieve this common goal, while ensuring that each deployment is aligned with local regulatory, environmental, and community requirements.
