UrbanV and Pax Aeroportos sign an agreement to build Brazil's first urban vertiports
Rome / São Paulo – January 13, 2026 – UrbanV, operator of international vertiport networks, and Pax Aeroportos, concessionaire and operator of two of the most strategic urban airports in Brazil, have signed an agreement for the joint development and integration of vertiport infrastructure at Campo de Marte (São Paulo) and Jacarepaguá (Rio de Janeiro) airports.
This partnership combines UrbanV's international expertise in the design and operation of vertiport networks with Pax Aeroportos' strong operational presence and long-term vision for urban aviation infrastructure in Brazil, positioning the two airports of interest as future access hubs for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
Building on the collaboration already underway in Brazil — launched with the establishment of a regulatory sandbox at Campo de Marte in partnership with ANAC (the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency) — UrbanV and Pax Aeroportos add another milestone to their shared roadmap, with the goal of building scalable, integrated Advanced Air Mobility networks in Brazil.
Campo de Marte will be the central hub for the São Paulo metropolitan area, with hangar capacity and connections to high-demand destinations such as the main international airports, Faria Lima, Alphaville, Campinas, and Santos. Similarly, in the Rio de Janeiro area, Jacarepaguá airport will be the key access point to the western part of the city, offering connections to Copacabana, Niterói, and the main city airports, and further leveraging its importance in Brazil's executive and helicopter aviation ecosystem.
This collaboration reflects the shared ambition to further advance urban air mobility solutions in Brazil, leveraging existing infrastructure and paving the way for future expansions and additional projects.
"This agreement consolidates our presence in one of the most strategic markets for Advanced Air Mobility. Together with Pax Aeroportos, we are laying the foundations of Brazil's future air mobility networks, starting from airports that already play a central role in urban aviation," says Ivan Bassato, chairman of UrbanV.
"We operate two of the most strategic urban airports in Brazil, and we see Advanced Air Mobility as the natural evolution of urban aviation," says Rogerio Augusto Prado, CEO of Pax. "This partnership with UrbanV allows us to expand our already strong presence in Brazil and to explore new opportunities to integrate next-generation air mobility solutions into our airports and the cities we serve."
UrbanV and Pax Aeroportos present the design concept for the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro Advanced Air Mobility networks, which will connect the main urban, commercial, and regional destinations with next-generation air mobility infrastructure.
