UrbanV and Speedbird Aero: strategic partnership to advance Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) and autonomous drone logistics

Rome (Italy) and Porto (Portugal), Wednesday, May 7, 2025 – A strategic partnership has been launched between UrbanV SpA, a global leader in vertiport infrastructure and Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) services, and Speedbird Aero, a pioneer in autonomous drone-based logistics solutions, with the goal of accelerating the development of IAM in Italy. This collaboration, which combines UrbanV's unique expertise in innovative air services with Speedbird Aero's advanced drone technologies, will lay the groundwork for the creation of an integrated, seamless ecosystem to promote IAM and drone-based cargo transport services. Together, the companies aim to foster the expansion of networks specifically optimized for drone deliveries and connected services, enabling faster, greener, and more accessible air transport solutions. Key elements of the partnership: Joint operational hubs: by integrating drone-based logistics operations into UrbanV's existing and future facilities. Pilot projects across regions: by launching pilot programs in Italy for scalable drone delivery solutions in urban areas and intermodal air mobility networks. Advanced technology integration: by integrating Speedbird Aero's autonomous flight platforms into UrbanV's digital vertiport ecosystem for real-time coordination, monitoring, and fleet management. Sustainability commitment: by promoting zero-carbon logistics and transport through the use of zero-emission electric aerial vehicles and optimized, eco-friendly route planning.
