UrbanV and Alatau Advance Air Group join forces to shape the future of Advanced Air Mobility in Central Asia
Rome, December 17, 2025 – A new international collaboration has been announced between UrbanV, an international operator of vertiport networks, and Alatau Advance Air Group (AAAG), a company committed to introducing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) solutions in Kazakhstan. The goal: designing the country's first vertiport network. The initiative will initially focus on the emerging Smart City of Alatau and the Almaty metropolitan area, supporting Kazakhstan's ambition to become a leading hub for next-generation mobility in Central Asia.
Recently, AAAG strengthened this commitment by signing a letter of intent with Joby Aviation, one of the global pioneers of eVTOL technology.
Through this partnership, UrbanV and AAAG will collaborate on the design of a vertiport network that will include demand analysis, the definition of potential routes, the identification of the most strategic locations between Alatau and Almaty, and a preliminary assessment of airspace, operational models, and technological requirements.
The first concrete step will be the design of a Test Center in Alatau City, a dedicated facility that will serve as a basic infrastructure to enable the first tests and demonstration flights with eVTOL aircraft.
This initiative marks a fundamental milestone for Kazakhstan, which aims to position itself as a regional benchmark for innovative technologies, sustainable mobility, and industrial attractiveness.
UrbanV is further expanding its international presence, entering the Central Asian market with its specialist know-how in vertiport planning, design, and operations. The collaboration will also include stakeholder engagement and regulatory support to help define the national framework for Advanced Air Mobility, fostering the future rollout of AAM services across the region.
Ivan Bassato, Chairman of UrbanV, said:
"We are thrilled to collaborate with AAAG on a project that helps build safer, more connected, and more sustainable mobility. Kazakhstan is investing with ambition and foresight in the future of AAM, and UrbanV is ready to make its international experience available to support this important transformation."
The initiative is in line with UrbanV's global strategy, aimed at developing next-generation vertiport infrastructure that is safe and efficient, capable of supporting future eVTOL services and contributing to the global transition to clean air mobility.
In this context, UrbanV will also collaborate with Korea Airports Corporation (KAC), activating one of the key points of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed last year; the agreement envisages close cooperation in international vertiport development, through the sharing of expertise, information, and design analyses to support the coordinated growth of emerging AAM ecosystems.
